ONE WALL ON ISABEL TAGGED LAST NIGHT – COVERED UP BY HOME OWNER ALREADY

BE VIGILANT
BE OBSERVANT
BE A PARTICIPANT, NOT A VICTIM, LET’S RECLAIM OUR NEIGHBORHOOD.  IT IS NOT A DRUG HOLE… THERE ARE A LOT OF GOOD, HONEST, HARD WORKING PEOPLE IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD!

Neighborhood Shell Wednesday, Aug 8 2012

Well, there is a slight reprieve in the hood.  Not sure as to all the reasons however please keep aware; cruise, walk and report the overt stuff.  The drugs flowing through the neighborhood are the root cause of us all living apprehensively.  It is sad.  MUCH APPRECIATION TO THOSE WHO ARE GETTING OUT IN THE EVENINGS AND PUTTING UP A FIGHT AGAINST THE BULLSHIT.  Our biggest weapon against neighborhood crime is us getting out, getting together and LOOKING who is driving around and calling in the speeders etc.  Honestly, this is a losing battle.  All of our fixes are temporary.  It is the best we can do now.  We need to meet and greet.  We need to break out of our neighborhood shell.

Residential Burglaries Drop Dramatically in the First Half of July Friday, Jul 20 2012

Mayor Coss wants Comprehensive and Regional Effort

 Santa Fe, NM – July 17, 2012 – Residential and automobile burglaries are both down more than 50% in July compared to the same period last year according to the Santa Fe Police Department’s latest statistics. The Santa Fe Police Department is attributing the drop to Operation Full Court Press which aims to reduce property crime by focusing on repeat offenders and high crime areas. Operation Full Court Press has been underway since mid-June.

 “We’ve worked hard to redeploy resources to address this problem and it’s great to see some preliminary results. We need to stay vigilant and keep working with the courts, neighborhoods and the rest of the community to continue to improve this problem,” said Chief Raymond Rael of the Santa Fe Police Department.

 Many burglaries are rooted in drug problems according to property crimes detective Sergeant Jerome Sanchez, “It’s clear that heroin is the main driver of property crime.  Every single burglar we’ve talked to this month has clearly been using heroin.”

 In an effort to address the root cause of the issue, Mayor David Coss is co-hosting a forum on Wednesday, July 18 with the Drug Policy Alliance that will look at an innovative program designed to break the cycle of addiction and crime in a community.

 “We clearly can’t arrest our way out of this problem. We need a multi-disciplinary and regional approach, so we’re hoping to work closely with Espanola, Santa FeCounty and other regional governments to address all aspects of this complex issue,” said Mayor Coss.

 The Santa Fe Police Department is asking that members of the community help reduce crime by not leaving valuables in plain sight in vehicles. They also ask that people be the eyes and ears of the police and report suspicious activity to (505) 428-3710.

 Keep up the good work.

We are grateful to the men and women of the SFPD!!

Listed on the Crime Reports Map BUT NOT IN THE POLICE NOTES!!!  Family ties between law breakers and law enforcement is at least partially the reason our neighborhood is stagnant.  Drugs flow freely in and out of the Casa Alegre, Maez, Gallegos Lane neighborhood.  The passage of those drugs is sanctioned by big money, connections in high places.  Officers on the street are likely unaware and simply compromised.  We in the Casa Alegre Neighborhood are greatly appreciative of the honest, hard working police officers of the SFPD who continually sacrifice to try and help make Santa Fe a positive place to live.

Below are some of the recent crimes in Santa Fe that the SFPD has had to address;
