Sunday evening in the hood Tuesday, Aug 28 2012

Sunday evening in the hood.  Grey Chevy pulled over at the top of Maclovia near Cerrillos Road at about 9pm.  Occupants removed from the vehicle at gunpoint.  A total 7 squad cars.  All guns drawn.  Incident lasted about an hour.  Female suspect allowed to drive vehicle away from scene.  Two male suspects apprehended.

This, we believe is the police note:

Sean Gallegos, 605 Grecian Drive, was arrested on charges of assault and concealing identity after someone reported that Gallegos and another man were threatening him with a knife on Cerrillos Road and Maclovia Street at about 10 p.m. Sunday.

Also in our area in the last few days;

August 26.  Someone broke into a Toyota 4Runner and stole a purse that contained a Social Security card, personal ID, food stamps, paperwork for court and a prescription for medication at Cerrillos Road and Declovina Street late Thursday night.

Traffic Saturday, Aug 25 2012

All kinds of vehicles cruising down into Gallegos Lane to pick up their fix.  Green Mercedes, Black / Grey Toyota with Washington plates, on and on and on.  Seriously, if you need a fix, this is the place to come.  What’s great is that the street lights don’t work very well so it’s dark at night.  Your supplier is likely on a bike.  Easy to spot.  Auto Zone parking lot, College Shopping Center parking lot are other good places to find a dealer.

You can always tell when a shipment of good drugs has arrived because of all the traffic.

Meeting this Saturday Friday, Aug 24 2012

There will be a small neighborhood meeting this Saturday at 10am at the Maclovia Park.  Open to anyone interested.

Neighborhood Shell Wednesday, Aug 8 2012

Well, there is a slight reprieve in the hood.  Not sure as to all the reasons however please keep aware; cruise, walk and report the overt stuff.  The drugs flowing through the neighborhood are the root cause of us all living apprehensively.  It is sad.  MUCH APPRECIATION TO THOSE WHO ARE GETTING OUT IN THE EVENINGS AND PUTTING UP A FIGHT AGAINST THE BULLSHIT.  Our biggest weapon against neighborhood crime is us getting out, getting together and LOOKING who is driving around and calling in the speeders etc.  Honestly, this is a losing battle.  All of our fixes are temporary.  It is the best we can do now.  We need to meet and greet.  We need to break out of our neighborhood shell.
